About Alison:

Alison combines her passions for nutrition, bodywork, meditation, and yoga within Ayurveda, the ancient health care and health maintenance system of India and a sister science of yoga.

From the moment Alison began reading and hearing about Ayurveda in the 1970s, she realized she had found the key to educating and empowering herself in her own health, based on the principles of nature, our bio-individuality, and the body’s innate capacity for healing. Many years later her personal experience with Ayurveda led to a longing to change careers to make this ancient wisdom science her life’s work.

Her formal training and certification in Ayurveda is from the New England Institute of Ayurveda in Worcester, Massachusetts. She received advanced training at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM with Dr. Vasant Lad, who by many accounts is the pre-eminent Ayurvedic physician in North America.

She has also trained with Dr. Amla Guha, who introduced Ayurveda into the medical school curriculum at University of Connecticut, and Dr. Kant Mishra, a 7th generation vaidya, or Ayurvedic physician, who has an Ayurveda practice in Los Angles, CA.

Additionally, Alison receive her formal training and certification in massage, polarity therapy, reflexology, and from the Polarity Realization Institute in Ipswich, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of the 200-hour yoga teacher training at Empowered Yoga, Wilmington, DE. She is a certified mindfulness-awareness meditation through Shambhala International and completed the Penn Program for Mindfulness and its teaching practicum.
