With over 30 years of combined experience, yoga studio owners Christine and Erin will offer you a new kind of training. We call it experiential.

What you can expect from this training:

  • Learn how to design & teach a safe and effective Yoga class based on the principles of FLY! Vinyasa®

  • Learn the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. This is an ancient yoga text.

  • Understand and incorporate the Eight Limb Path of Yoga. These are the steps to stress management used by yoga.

  • Anatomy and Physiology. 

  • Learn how to design and execute alignment based classes for multiple levels of students from beginner to advanced.

   Receive practical experience teaching including learning verbal cues and hands on assists.

   Understand the business of yoga. 

   *Grow personally by learning and practicing the principles of self-love, universal oneness, compassion and kindness for yourself and others. Improve all relationships especially the one with yourself*

 

APPLICATION 

  • At least 1 year of experience practicing yoga asana (physical movements), vinyasa style recommended

  • Be approved by your doctor to perform vinyasa style yoga including movements needed to perform a sun salutation.

  • Complete a video applications.  The requirements are easy and listed below.

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from one of your yoga teachers.

TEACHER TRAINING SCHEDULE

Module 1

Sept 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23 and Nov 6 & 7

Experiential Learning: Breath work, Sun Salutation, parts of a class, yamas and niyamas, meditation, anatomy and FUN!

Module 2

Jan 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, and Feb 19 & 20

 

Experiential Learning: Learning postures, organizing a class, anatomical language, practicing presence, sanskrit, Japa meditation, Yoga for emotional support (inward journey) and FUN!

Module 3

March 5, 12, 19, 26, April 2, and April 9 & 10

 

Experiential Learning: Moon Salutation, developing sequences, common postural imbalances and more and FUN!

Module 4

April 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4 & 5

Graduation Requirements

Physical Practicum Test – This test involves demonstrating teaching Written Practicum – Quizzes throughout the course. Final Exam if low quiz score

Written Quizzes – Monthly quizzes are for your benefit, to check your knowledge and encourage you to memorize some materials.

Attend a minimum of 8 out of the 9 required weekend trainings. Attend a total of 60 yoga classes between September and May during your training. These classes can be attended at our studio or elsewhere.  You will keep a log.

We offer YTT students discounted memberships at Liberty Yoga and discounts on workshops and shop purchases.

Perform daily meditation for a minimum of 5 minutes each day.  You will keep a log.

A final project that involves a special themed class of your own design.

FAQ

What if I have to miss a weekend?

We strongly recommend missing no weekends.  That said, we have built in enough hours to achieve your certification if you miss one weekend.  You will still be required to make the work up on your own and we will work with you on this.  If you miss more than one weekend you will be able to make up the weekends missed the next year if you wish to complete the program.

Refunds

After January 1st, there are no refunds.  You may use the money toward classes at the studio or enroll in the an upcoming  FLY! Vinyasa teacher training.

Is Liberty Yoga Yoga Alliance Registered?Yes! FLY! Vinyasa® 200 hr teacher training at Liberty Yoga is a registered yoga school with yoga alliance.  Upon completion of the program you will be able to send them your certificate and become a registered yoga teacher.  Christine and Erin are also both E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. Feel free to view their profiles on the Yoga Alliance site.

Quality is probably of the utmost importance to you.  Christine and Erin are committed to helping you to achieve your yoga goals by deepening your knowledge of this ancient practice.  We know life can be tough, and we also know how to guide people to get through the tough stuff.  We are excellent physical practitioners and are committed to bettering the physical practice of our students through example, verbal and hands on assistance, detailed alignment cues and instruction. The alignment you will gain in this program is based on therapeutics and anatomy; it allows for differences in individuals, and it will help you to promote fitness in your clients from the inside out. Christine has one of the strongest physical practices available locally and the founder of FLY! Vinyasa with safe and effective core strengthening transitional movements. She is a level 1 certified Yoga Therapist and founder of Yoga for Emotional Support. Christine is Spiritual Leadership Certified. She will offer you ways to be of service in this world by first diving deep into self discovery and growth so you may share your loving kindness with others. Erin has years of experience working with special populations and teaching anatomy and physiology at the college level. She has completed training in Melt Method and has her Masters in Yoga Therapy.  We look forward to traveling on this Journey to discovery together!

Can a Career in Yoga pay my bills?

 

Great question.  We’ve done it! It’s hard but we’ll show you how! Part of the Teacher program is called “The Business of Yoga” where we can help with the details of whatever you choose to do with your teacher training experience.

 

I don’t really want to be a yoga teacher. Would this program still be good for me?


Yes. Yoga keeps you feeling and looking healthy by relieving your stress. It helps you to manage your relationships and to feel calm.  Christine and Erin both feel young and vibrant. They are 108 years old!  ( just kidding). Seriously, they both know how to use yoga to reduce stress and move towards health, love, peace, and joy into their lives and the lives of others!  Come heal and grow with them in this wonderful experiential program that teaches you how to manage stress and thrive in life!
